The Linz Sound Cloud with the "Schönbrunn"

When the sound cloud first descended over Linz in 1979, no one could have guessed that this event would become an institution, and even more, a true Linz landmark. The Linz Sound Cloud stands out as a spectacular highlight in the city's cultural calendar. It is the largest staged open-air event in Europe with free admission. Up to 100,000 people flock to the Danube Park every year to admire this total work of art, which combines scenic performance, text, music, light, and many other artistic elements. The Danube is always included, with its waves serving as a stage just as much as its banks. Renowned artists from various genres have already contributed to the Linz Sound Cloud. They have all managed to engage with the Danube Park in their own unique way, imprinting their personal signature on their respective sound clouds.
