Cinema summer at the Salettl

The grumpy widower Walter Adler spends his days in Regensburg writing restaurant reviews and caring for his loyal dog. However, when he reunites with his first love, Alice Olsen, his life takes an unexpected turn. Forty years after he unsuccessfully proposed to her, a second chance at love presents itself. To finally win over Alice, who teaches as an art professor at the University of Regensburg, he enrolls as a guest student in her seminar.

As a result, he is not only challenged by Alice but also by a generation of students with whom he seemingly has nothing in common at first glance. Although Walter's life situation, interests, and habits differ greatly from those of the students, they seek his company and increasingly involve him in their activities.

The lead role of the widower Walter Adler is played by Heiner Lauterbach, while Iris Berben takes on the role of the art professor Alice Olsen.
