Southern Styria Classic

After the technical scrutineering on Wednesday, the sporting challenge begins on Thursday on the ÖAMTC circuit. On Friday, the teams are challenged to achieve the target times over the closed Rechberg to the largest contiguous mountain pasture area in Europe, the Teichalm. Back in the valley, the blossoming apple road delights the participants. After a fantastic lunch buffet at the Obermayerhofen wedding castle, the route leads back to southern Styria via the Schlösserstraße and the Vulkanland with its striking Riegersburg castle, where the first winners are crowned at the "Styrian evening" with petrol whispers. Saturday can be described as the ultimate travel guide through the vineyards of southern Styria: small winding roads through the vineyards, passing controls at internationally renowned wineries and, as the crowning finale, the Welsch Grand Prix in the centre of Gamlitz - 1 day in one of the most beautiful landscapes in Austria. The epoch and overall winners (pre-war/post-war) are determined in regularity tests with GPS measurement as well as in special tests on closed routes (8 such special stages) with light barrier or hose measurement.
