An exhibition by the City Museum Steyr with support from Culture Upper Austria and the "OÖ KulturEXPO Anton Bruckner 2024."

Anton Bruckner puzzled his contemporaries and remains a mystery to this day, surrounded by attempts at interpretation and anecdotes. In Steyr, he found "coolness and calm" for composing and formed close friendships. The exhibition invites visitors to follow Bruckner's traces in Steyr and get to know his acquaintances. The curators demonstrate how Bruckner's quest for recognition is #HEARD and how he has always been celebrated in Steyr. Visitors will encounter the composer and #LISTEN to works by the master. Interactive music installations and contemporary compositions transport them to previously unknown sound worlds. The exhibition explores the human side of Anton Bruckner in Steyr and tells UN#HEARD stories.

Children Experience Bruckner
At the City Museum Steyr, engaging with Anton Bruckner becomes an experience for children. Colorful illustrations and an activity booklet guide young museum visitors through the exhibition. Touchable objects, interactive stations, and creative activities allow for a versatile engagement with the composer. With the supplementary children's website www.tonerl.at, young museum visitors can take Bruckner home to their living rooms.
