New Year's party in the Koppenbrüller cave

Unique New Year's celebrationThis event has become a fixture on the tourist programme in the Inner Salzkammergut since 1980. It takes place every year on 2 January.

You are led by torches from the Koppenrast car park through wintry landscapes to the cave entrance. Once there, you will be greeted by the Obertraun brass band and the Bengal glow at the cave entrance.
Guided tours of the Koppenbrüller CaveInterested visitors now have the opportunity to take part in expert guided tours of the Koppenbrüller Cave. Inside the cave, the cave areas "Simonyhalle", "Hannakluft" and "Lahnerhalle", as well as the "Klingfall" and various stalactite formations, which are also known from the summer show caves, are impressive. A stand with detailed speleological information is of course set up on site.

The musical part, which has been performed by a group of local didgeridoo players in the "Krokodilhalle" for the last few years, will once again enrich the programme this year.

The Obertraun hosts also invite you to grill potatoes at the open campfire or to fortify yourself with hot drinks, which will both lift your spirits in the sometimes arctic temperatures and shorten occasional waiting times.
