ALPS Basic Instinct Ski Touring Day Wurzeralm

In the small group, you will embark on your first ski tour with your ALPS mountain guide. You will pick up the necessary equipment at the ALPS rental shop Intersport Pachleitner and meet your mountain guide. After a brief explanation of the equipment, you will start at the starting point PYHRNPASS (with a short transfer by minibus, approx. 10 minutes) and ascend leisurely along forest roads and the beautiful Hintersteineralm up to the Gameringalmen. During the tour, you will encounter only a few other ski tourers, as the route is not very well-known. In the short breaks, important tips for ski touring will be discussed. This includes not only equipment but also knowledge about snow and weather conditions, as well as the proper behavior in nature and in emergencies. After a break, you will ski down the Gameringskiroute, which resembles a piste. After about 4 eventful hours, you will return to your starting point, the valley station Wurzeralm.

Equipment: Ski touring equipment (can also be rented) – BIRENATALSKI001: Ski touring skis with bindings, ski skins, suitable ski touring boots, poles, 3-antenna avalanche transceiver. Clothing: Ski clothing with pants and jacket, warm underwear, ski socks, change shirt. Other: Backpack, small snack for the tour, water bottle (thermos), ski goggles or sunglasses, ski or touring helmet. Recommended products from: Löffler, Black Diamond, Mammut, Fischer, Movement.
