On the trail of the lynx

A total of five wild lynx were relocated from Switzerland to the Kalkalpen National Park in 2011, 2013 and 2017 to support the population.
The population support was initially successful: from 2012, there were lynx cubs in the Kalkalpen National Park region for the first time in over 150 years. However, there was also evidence of illegal shooting and the poachers were convicted in court. On this exclusive tour, lynx researcher Christian Fuxjäger will tell you about the current status of the project as well as interesting facts about the lifestyle of the large, shy forest cat with the striking "brush ears".
