Färbermarkt Gutau - Blue Printing and Good Mood

On Sunday, May 3, 2026, it will once again be time for the "Blaudruck" to take center stage at the marketplace and surrounding streets of Gutau. Selected artisans and 15 indigo dyers from five countries will gather for this unique craft market in Europe, held in the Mühlviertel community of Gutau. The dyer market, which is considered one of the most beautiful craft markets in Austria, attracts countless visitors to the dyeing community in the Mühlviertel every year. With the Dyer Museum and the fabric dyeing workshop, the community of Gutau offers a unique opportunity to experience the UNESCO cultural heritage of Blaudruck in its entirety. In the Dyer Museum, visitors can see how Blaudruck has been produced for over a quarter of a century, and in the opposite fabric dyeing workshop, they can witness the production process firsthand. Nearly 100 sales stands will offer everything the heart desires for lovers of Blaudruck, traditional costumes, and handicrafts. The Dyer Museum will be open to visitors throughout the day.

A harmonious supporting program featuring live music, a fashion show, guided tours of the Dyer Museum and the church, demonstration dyeing with indigo, and excellent cuisine will round off the day.
