With the Art Nouveau tram from Gmunden station through the villa district to the Esplanade, over the Traun Bridge to the lakeside station and back. A pleasure straight out of the Kaiser’s times! On the route of the formerly smallest, yet still one of the steepest trams in the world, you will pass through the beautiful lakeside town of Gmunden. A unique experience with the Art Nouveau tram GM 5 (built in 1911) along the most beautiful spots in Gmunden (Route Gmunden Station - Villa District - Esplanade - Town Hall Square - Lakeside Station & return). ALL ABOARD! Fare Nostalgia Day Ticket: Adults € 9.00 | Children € 5.00 (6-15 years) Due to limited space in the nostalgia vehicle, unfortunately, strollers cannot be accommodated. Please note that this vehicle is not barrier-free.

Special Schedule Nostalgia Tram 2026: Pottery Market in Gmunden August 29 & 30, 2026; Long Night of Industrial Culture, Thursday, September 3, 2026 - Rides until approximately 21:45 (special schedule to follow!) We recommend traveling by public transport!

By train: via Attnang-Puchheim station to Gmunden station. Numerous connections from Attnang-Puchheim station to the main traffic trains on the Westbahn line (Line 101) or via Gmunden to the Salzkammergutbahn towards Bad Ischl, Hallstatt, and Bad Aussee. From Vorchdorf, take the Traunsee Tram (Line 161) from Stern & Hafferl to the Gmunden station or Gmunden lakeside station. By bus: OÖVV bus lines 507, 505, or 533 as well as city bus lines from Gmunden, stop Gmunden station. By bicycle: The two stops Gmunden station or Gmunden lakeside station are also very accessible by bicycle. The Traunviertel tour passes directly by Gmunden lakeside station, the R4 Traun cycling path is also quickly reachable at the Traun Bridge, and the R2 Salzkammergut cycling path runs about 500 meters past Gmunden station. By car:
West Autobahn A1: Vienna - Voralpenkreuz-A1 - Exit A1 Laakirchen West - via Laakirchen to Gmunden - Gmunden East - P & R facility Engelhof.
West Autobahn A1: Munich - Salzburg - Exit A1 Regau - to Gmunden - Gmunden East - P & R facility Engelhof.

Parking:
We recommend using the P & R facility Engelhof, then continuing with the Traunsee Tram to the Gmunden station or Gmunden lakeside station. Please only use the designated parking spaces and be considerate of private property! Thank you for your fairness!
