An international top ensemble led by Benjamin Schmid will interpret two singular piano quintets from music history. Erich Wolfgang Korngold's quintet is filled with the passions of grand opera and the spirit of innovation in 1920s Vienna. Robert Schumann's piece from 1843, described by his wife Clara as “a work full of strength and freshness,” truly sends “light into the depths of the human heart,” which Schumann believed was “the artist's vocation.”
