"The Dress" highlights practices of exclusion through the example of the "Seamstresses of Auschwitz." The focus is on Hedwig, the wife of camp commandant Rudolf Höß, who runs the so-called "Upper Sewing Room" in Auschwitz. From the belongings of millions of deportees, she has haute couture made for high-ranking Nazi officials and their wives. Each dress powerfully symbolizes the fate of life and death.
