Guided hike: Nature observation trail Nassfeld

Framed by the glaciated mountains of the Tauern range, the panorama in Nassfeld impresses its visitors. Nassfeld is not an untouched nature reserve, but rather a cultural landscape shaped by humans for centuries. Remnants of mining and the old Roman road are traces of the once heavily traveled trade route over the Mallnitzer Tauern. The National Park Theme Trail Nassfeld is located at the end of the Gastein Valley and begins right at the information hut of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Here, visitors can receive additional information on topics such as geology, the water as a basis of life, wildlife, and alpine flora, which are characteristic of the Gastein Nassfeld. The trail leads southward from the parking lot towards Nassfeldalm and Brandtneralm. The hike is rated as "easy to moderate" and is therefore suitable for families with slightly older children.
