Cattle drive from the Gruberalm and Genneralm

The Almabtrieb is a special celebration in the life of the alpine summer every year! When the animals have made it through the summer without any accidents, they are festively adorned and driven down into the valley with a big celebration. Year after year, the Almabtrieb from Gruberalm is a fixed point in Hintersee. Starting at 11:00 AM, you can enjoy hearty alpine dishes while listening to the last sounds of the alpine music. At 1:00 PM, the alpine cattle will be decorated, and around 2:30 PM, the herders will lead their animals down into the valley. In case of rain, the Almabtrieb will be postponed to Sunday, unless the weather forecast indicates no better weather for Sunday, in which case it will proceed as planned on Saturday. The walking time from the Lämmerbach parking lot to Gruberalm is about 45 minutes. At the same time, there will be an alpine festival at Posch'n Hütte (Genneralm) with live music and alpine delicacies. Afterwards, the animals will be accompanied from Genneralm down into the valley.
