(Fast) everything is new in Linz! Austria's largest women's sports event, the WTA 500 tournament Upper Austria Ladies Linz, not only has a new date but will also be held on a different surface. In 2026, a hall tournament on clay will take place for the first time at the Linz Design Center, marking the start of preparations for the Grand Slam tournament at Roland Garros in the spring. The 35th edition of the Upper Austria Ladies Linz will kick off in 2026 with the qualifying matches on Easter Sunday, April 5. The final will be held on Sunday, April 12. This date has now been confirmed by tournament director Sandra Reichel from the women's tennis professional organization WTA. Thus, the event will be held as an indoor clay court tournament for the first time in its history.
