Berlin / Los Angeles – With fanfares into the film music concert: the magnificent symphonic sound worlds of Hans Zimmer can be experienced for the first time in your city in a unique concert. No composer has shaped the world of film as profoundly with his overwhelming compositions as the Oscar, Globe, and Emmy winner. Visitors can expect a special musical evening in a grand performance with orchestra, choir, soloists, and a lighting design.
The German-born Hans Zimmer became famous with "Rain Man" and has since contributed to numerous mega-hits from Hollywood, achieving success and dramatic-emotional impact, including "Mission Impossible II," "Gladiator," "Pirates of the Caribbean," as well as "Interstellar" and "Batman." For the film score to Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk," Hans Zimmer received his eleventh Oscar nomination in 2018.
The audience will also learn interesting background stories, such as how Hans Zimmer completely changed the beginning of Gladiator with Ridley Scott and smuggled a message against apartheid into the lyrics of The Lion King in the local language, telling the big Disney corporation that it was about butterflies...
"The Music of Hans Zimmer & More – A Celebration of Film Music" will be presented by the Hollywood Philharmonic Orchestra, along with a choir and international soloists, featuring an impressive light show, projections, and selected film clips. Orchestra and Choir
The Hollywood Philharmonic Orchestra collaborates in Europe with the State Academic Symphony Orchestra and the Choir of the Republic of Belarus. This ensemble captivates audiences across Europe with "its unleashed joy of making music." For several years, the ensemble has also successfully performed at the most renowned opera houses and concert halls in Germany, such as the Alte Oper Frankfurt, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Philharmonie Munich, Philharmonie Berlin, and Musikhalle Hamburg.
The State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus was founded in 1927 as one of the oldest institutions of the Soviet Union. The "Belarusian State Philharmonic Society" was established ten years later, to which the orchestra now belongs. The symphony orchestra has always been among the leading orchestras in Russia. Some of the most sought-after soloists of the twentieth century have repeatedly accepted invitations from this symphony orchestra, including David Oistrach, Yehudi Menuhin, Victor Ashkenazy, and Isaac Stern.
