Chien Shuing Wu worked with greats like Robert Oppenheimer and disproved a fundamental physical law with her "Wu Experiment."
Yet the Nobel Prize always went to her male colleagues. In China, at the beginning of the 20th century, there were no opportunities for girls to attend school. Her parents even founded a school to provide their daughter with a basic education. At the age of 24, she had to leave her family and homeland forever to continue her studies in atomic physics in America and dedicate herself entirely to nuclear fission.
It is the story of a Chinese girl who realized her dream of becoming a scientist with iron will and heroic courage. This exciting journey is told by Ali Mayer-Pernkopf, a Kamishibai performer and storyteller from Upper Austria. For people aged 6 and up.
