Prince Hamlet does not know what is happening to him. Just two months ago, his father died, and now his mother has married his uncle Claudius, who is now the new king of Denmark. When the ghost of his dead father appears to him, informing him that he was treacherously poisoned by his brother Claudius and urging him to avenge the murder, the prince falls into despair. Unable to act, he becomes entangled in a web of madness and contradictions, role-playing, betrayal, and intrigue. In her production of Shakespeare's world-famous tragedy, Karin Henkel brings the ghosts of the past to life again and again. An unending play of appearance and reality. Or non-being.
