The Early Years
The roots of Black gospels and spirituals date back to the early 18th century. At that time, African slaves developed their first English-language hymns in the foreign land of America. During this period, they still held onto their own moral concepts and religious beliefs.

The History of the Ensemble
For almost twenty years, we have traveled through the USA to proclaim the joyful message in churches and theaters. During this time, I have had the privilege of experiencing some of the best gospel singers that America has to offer. But no matter where my travels took me, I always kept my ears open.

In my own community in Harlem, the dream emerged to bring together some of the best American gospel singers as a group, so they can share their spiritual fire with brothers and sisters in Europe. Thanks to the support of our producers and promoters, we can now live this dream.
