Maypole raising by the Wörth Fire Department and Mountain Rescue

The Maypole is a symbol of fertility, life, and the blossoming of nature. The raising of the Maypole is extremely popular in many places - a tradition with a long history. Usually, a spruce tree up to 35 meters long is used for this purpose. First, it is "stripped" (freed from bark and branches), and later decorated with ribbons and hand-woven wreaths. The green top of the tree is left intact.

The entrance of the Maypole through the village is accompanied by the "Schnalzer," woodworkers, and a horse-drawn carriage at 3 PM. Afterwards, the Maypole will be erected and later raffled off. You can look forward to delicious beer tent specialties such as grilled chicken, Bosna (a type of sausage), fries, and pork chops, as well as great musical entertainment.
