Festive church service, followed by Prang Day with Prang pole procession.

The festive day begins with the festive service in the parish church of St. Rupert. Afterwards, the Prangstangen (decorative poles) are carried in a ceremonial procession through the village. The Prangstangen remain in the parish church until August 15 and are returned to the families of the binders after the blessing of the herbs. The blessed herbs are used as incense during the Rauhnächte (the twelve nights) between Christmas and Epiphany.
