The true story of the couple Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Este & Sophie Duchess of Hohenberg, née Chotek

This is the story of a forbidden love within the House of Habsburg, which managed to prevail against all odds, while also giving rise to an unbridled hatred for all adversaries. It is openly recounted how the sickly, dissatisfied, and weak Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Este became a healthy and strong-willed heir to the throne with new perspectives for the monarchy through his love for the Bohemian Countess Sophie Chotek von Chotkowa.

This love had a great advocate in Emperor Franz Joseph: Archduchess Marie Therese, the revered stepmother of Franz Ferdinand. She was the only confidante to witness the beginning of this relationship, the tragic end of this marriage, and the upbringing of the three orphaned children.

After the successful production "Zita Returns Home," Elisabeth-Joe Harriet will play the role of "Archduchess Marie Therese," alongside "Sophie Princess of Hohenberg" (portrayed by Beatrice Gleicher) and "Archduke Franz Ferdinand" (portrayed by Ralph Saml) in the exhibition rooms of Schloss Eckartsau.

The final part of the performance will take place at standing tables in the baroque staircase hall, where a hunting snack will be served.
