Midsummer (also known as the Summer Solstice) is a millennia-old Germanic festival that celebrates summer. In the past, it was believed that plants had healing magical powers on this day. It is typical to braid flowers into one's hair or wear a flower crown during Midsummer. The latter is meant to symbolize rebirth and fertility - throughout the entire year.
