The Sound of Music – Insight and Outlook

The magnificent Schloss Leopoldskron with its pond served as the backdrop for one of the key scenes from "The Sound of Music." The Salzburg Museum is now coming here with a "guest performance" and offers a preview of the "Sound of Music" museum, which will open in Hellbrunn in 2026, through a special exhibition.

The new museum will provide comprehensive information about the true story of the von Trapp family, the Broadway musical, and the films: "facts and fiction," objects and documentary photos, movie posters and programs, and much more will bring the life of Maria von Trapp and the cinematic fairy tale with Julie Andrews to life. The new museum area also features the "Gazebo" – the famous Sound of Music pavilion. Visits are only possible as part of free guided tours.
