The Sound of James Bond
Licensed to Thrill
Title songs and excerpts from the soundtracks of "From Russia with Love," "Goldfinger," "Thunderball," "You Only Live Twice," "Diamonds Are Forever," "Live and Let Die," "GoldenEye," "Casino Royale," "Skyfall," "No Time to Die," among others.
The actors may change, but the number 007 has stood for British coolness, cult, and thrills for over six decades. Everything about the "James Bond" success formula is right: strong women, fast cars, spectacular stunts, and breathtaking chases. In 25 films, the infamous MI6 agent has managed to save humanity from the most threatening villains in the most exotic locations around the world while seducing the most exciting women – always with style, charm, and a shaken, not stirred martini.
Equally unmistakable as James Bond himself is the music that has accompanied him from the beginning. Foremost is the legendary theme song – a classic among film music intros that always provides the perfect sound backdrop in the casino or during breathtaking stunts. And just like the license to kill, a new title song is part of every 007 adventure. The timeless soundtracks were created by film music greats such as John Barry, David Arnold, and Hans Zimmer. The biggest stars in music history have shaped the catalog of iconic Bond songs, including Shirley Bassey, Louis Armstrong, Nancy Sinatra, Tina Turner, Tom Jones, and Adele.
After the successful concerts of recent years, the music of 007 comes to life once again in the concert hall. Live, presented by a large symphony orchestra, a band, and enhanced by two outstanding voices: South African singer Tertia Botha, who captivates with her versatility and energetic presence, and American singer Dennis LeGree, known among others from "The Voice of Germany," whose distinctive soul and gospel voice creates unparalleled goosebump moments. Together, they bring the Bond songs to their full brilliance.
The evening will be hosted by Dietmar Wunder: For many years, he has lent his unique voice to Daniel Craig as a voice actor, shaping him for the German-speaking audience. With charm, humor, and exciting anecdotes from the world of 007, he will guide the program as a moderator, connecting the music with stories that will bring a smile to the faces of not only Bond fans.
