“Sleeping Beauty” is considered the masterpiece of composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Chief choreographer Reginaldo Oliveira is interested not only in the irresistibly beautiful ballet music and the enchanting fairy tale motifs but also in the archaic questions of good and evil, rejection and the ensuing revenge that this fairy tale raises. “Especially for these central scenes, Oliveira has developed an original-modern ballet language based on classical pointe work, which unfolds expressive movement phrases to Tchaikovsky's rhythms. Overlapping solos, duets, and group sequences are meticulously crafted and ideally tailored to the three soloists.” – Die Deutsche Bühne
