Bregenzerwald - Egg Interaction

Egg is an island. Not in the usual sense, but the town center can only be reached via bridges. The Bregenzerach and the Schmittenbach flow through the village, and outside the village, the Subersach flows into the Bregenzerach. Additionally, several small streams join in, all of which are spanned by bridges. Above the largest municipality in the Bregenzerwald, both in terms of area and population, a gallows hill serves as a reminder of the high or capital jurisdiction of earlier times. The path there leads to the district of Großdorf, which some residents of Großdorf consider to be the main part of the twin village. Egg is probably the village most characterized by stone houses in the region, which sets it apart from the "wooden" Großdorf.
