In the intaglio printing process, depressions are created in the printing plate. Various metals such as copper, zinc, aluminum, or materials with smooth surfaces like acrylic glass or Tetra Pak can be used as the printing plate. After fully inking, the surface is cleaned, and the ink remains in the depressions. During the printing process, the damp handmade paper draws the ink out of the depressions under high pressure, creating a slight relief. The raised, colored areas are characteristic of this technique. This workshop will provide fundamental knowledge and allow for experimentation on small test pieces. Price: €38 per person.
