With great diligence and craftsmanship, Heribert Metzler (Heri) processed countless tree trunks in the sawmill built around 1780 until shortly before his death in June 2022. The local population, guests, and visitors are invited to see and experience craftsmanship presented in a historical context. The "Venetian Saw," a single-blade saw, can still be admired in the sawmill in working condition. Leonardo da Vinci is considered the inventor of the Venetian saw. It is a truly special experience to see, hear, and smell as the tree trunks are freshly cut right before the eyes of the visitors.
