Jazz pianist Martin Listabarth is an excellent musical storyteller, whose music begins precisely where words are no longer sufficient. His music is deeply rooted in jazz, yet it also navigates the tension between classical and pop. He draws inspiration for his compositions from landscapes, cities, people, and personal encounters.

In his current trio program "Postcards," he presents songs full of infectious curiosity alongside Gidi Kalchhauser (double bass) and Sebastian Simsa (drums), bringing to life musically diverse places such as a metro station in Madrid, the night-time Istanbul, or a Parisian cemetery. Like postcards, Listabarth's compositions are atmospheric snapshots that tell stories of these locations in a concise manner, convey a specific ambiance, and simultaneously ignite the imagination. The three musicians approach their performance with freshness, courage, and playfulness. They explore the possibilities of communicative interplay without losing sight of their primary goal: to tell stories to the audience and take them on a musical journey.
