Our cultural mediation takes you back to the time of Emperor Maximilian I – an era of upheaval and new beginnings.

How did people live at the end of the Middle Ages in the residence city of Wiener Neustadt? What worries and troubles occupied their minds, and who came and went in the castle?

Follow in the footsteps of Emperor Maximilian I through Wiener Neustadt and learn more about his influence, his close connection to the city, and those historical places that still tell the story of his time.

The tour begins at the Museum St. Peter an der Sperr and leads you to the Cathedral of Our Lady. It goes along Böheimgasse and the main square to Allerheiligenplatz and further to the Neukloster. After a stop at the castle, the former imperial residence, you will follow Maximilian's path along the Kaiser-Maximilian-Promenade to the casemates, the final destination of the tour.
