Here’s how to get to the fairy tale train on the Traunsee tram at Gmunden Engelhof in the Traunsee-Almtal region:

We recommend traveling by public transport!

By train: Via Attnang-Puchheim station on the Salzkammergut railway (line 170) to Gmunden station. Numerous connections from Attnang-Puchheim station to the main traffic trains on the Westbahn line (line 101) or via Gmunden to the Salzkammergut railway towards Bad Ischl, Hallstatt, and Bad Aussee. Continue with the Traunsee tram (line 161) to the Gmunden Engelhof stop or from Vorchdorf also to the Gmunden Engelhof stop.

By bus: OÖVV bus lines 533 as well as city bus lines from Gmunden, stop Gmunden Bahnhof Engelhof.

By bike: Gmunden Engelhof station is also very accessible by bike. The Traunviertel tour passes very close to Gmunden Engelhof station, and in Gmunden, there are connections to the bike routes on the R4 Traun cycle path and R2 Salzkammergut cycle path. The bike connection from Vorchdorf via Gschwandt is also well established.

By car:
Westautobahn A1: Vienna - Voralpenkreuz-A1 - Exit A1 Laakirchen West - B144 via Laakirchen to Gmunden - B120 Gmunden Ost - Roundabout Gschwandt towards Baumgarten/Gmunden Ost - P&R facility at Engelhof station.
Westautobahn A1: Munich - Salzburg - Exit A1 Regau - B145 to Gmunden (also coming from Bad Ischl) - B120 Gmunden Ost - Roundabout Gschwandt towards Baumgarten/Gmunden Ost - P&R facility at Engelhof station.
