Bahngasse 27, 2700 Wiener Neustadt

with Bela Koreny, Karl Markovics, Julia Stemberger, Caroline Frank, Ethel Merhaut, and Wolf Bachofner!

Those who appreciate the good old Viennese tradition with plenty of charm, but also a touch of morbidity, will certainly get their money's worth this evening. With beloved classics such as "Der g’schupfte Ferdl" and "Tauben vergiften," the Austrian actors and singers Bela Koreny, Karl Markovics, Julia Stemberger, Caroline Frank, Ethel Merhaut, and Wolf Bachofner pay tribute to the Viennese cult musicians and cabaret artists Gerhard Bronner and Georg Kreisler. Among others, songs like "Der Wilde auf seiner Maschin," "Der Papa wird's schon richten," "Wien ohne Wiener," or "Chesterfield," as well as one of the most popular songs "Wia Glockn," will be performed.

Bela Koreny, the creator and designer of the program, will accompany on the piano. Profound humor and plenty of linguistic wit are guaranteed for the evening!

Bronner & Kreisler:
The story of two brilliant songwriters – Gerhard Bronner and Georg Kreisler – who were friends, later rivals, but always connected. Both had to flee as teenagers and returned later: Bronner in 1948, Kreisler in 1955. Together, they shaped venues like the Marietta-Bar and the Intime Theater. Bronner celebrated great successes with his ensemble at the Neues Theater am Kärntnertor. Kreisler initially performed his chansons at Bronner's, but later they went their separate ways, meeting artistically time and again. The evening showcases two contrasting Viennese figures – united by their city: Vienna.
