After more than 8000 concerts and 50 years "on the road," HANS THEESSINK is an institution in the realm of roots music. His soulful interpretations of solo acoustic blues have become his trademark, and with his sonorous voice and unmistakable guitar style, the Dutchman and Vienna resident is in high demand worldwide. His tours take him through Europe, North America, Asia, New Zealand, and Australia. In the USA—where the blues originated—Hans, as the only European, is repeatedly featured at the largest blues, roots, jazz, and folk festivals. The US press has called the two-time Amadeus Award winner and recipient of the Golden Merit Award of the City of Vienna, "an international blues treasure," and the legendary Bo Diddley remarked: "A hell of a good guitarist." Hans has won several Amadeus Awards and Danish Music Awards. He was also nominated for a Grammy and the Blues Music Award in 2009 in Memphis, TN. In 2018, Hans was inducted into The Dutch Blues Hall Of Fame. He has released over 30 albums, a songbook, a teaching video, and a DVD.
