Shrek - The Musical

The ogre Shrek is told by his parents that the rest of the world rejects ogres. So he settles down as a single in a nice, stinky swamp until his peace is disturbed by dozens of fairy tale creatures who have been expelled from the city of Duloc by Lord Farquaad. On the journey to Duloc, he is joined by a prejudiced but talkative donkey – the beginning of an unlikely friendship. Farquaad demands that in exchange for the return of his subjects, Shrek must rescue Princess Fiona from the lair of a dragon, as he wants to marry her. Shrek and the donkey actually manage to complete this task and, in the process, both find their dream woman. And who ends up empty-handed? The villain Farquaad, of course!

Ten years after the legendary animated film, the musical adaptation premiered on Broadway, immediately winning the hearts of audiences big and small with its cheeky wit and intelligent message, and has since become a global hit.
