LaBrassBanda is kicking off the "Polka Party"! New album and tour dates for 2025
The Bavarian brass rebels are back with a new album and an explosive tour! With their unique blend of brass, pop, techno, and ska, combined with Bavarian charm and a healthy dose of punk attitude, they have revolutionized brass music and captivated millions of fans. From "Habediehre" to "Übersee" and "Europa" - LaBrassBanda delivers hit after hit and creates legendary parties with their energetic live shows.
What began in 2007 as a musical revolution in Bavaria, shaking the foundations of traditionalists while simultaneously drawing the youth in droves to brass music in front of stages and into clubs, reached its peak in 2013 during the German preliminary round for the Eurovision Song Contest, capturing the entire country. This was followed by sold-out concert halls from Berlin to Cologne, and from Hamburg to Munich. Any potential language barriers with lyrics in Bavarian dialect? Not a chance. The biggest festival stages, including the Southside and Hurricane Festivals, were literally overrun by fans when the band, led by frontman Stefan Dettl, brought their captivating sound of brass-pop, hip-hop, punk, and techno, even lighting up the night sky.
LaBrassBanda is a sure thing live, and this quickly spread across Europe: in 2014, the all-studied musicians toured the UK in a nightliner and have since become a staple at all major festivals. Their 2014 album "Kiah Royal" was recorded in a cow barn. Guest musicians included Christoph Well, Rocko Schamoni, and Stephan Remmler. Together with music journalist Jan Wehn, the band published the book "Barfuß in Lederhosen um die Welt" in 2022, a mix of photo book and biography that reflects on the band's travels to Marrakech, Novosibirsk, and the USA.
2024 was an eventful year for the band. With the singles "Goaßnmaß," "Teufelstanz," and "Space Bäda," they already gave a taste of their upcoming album and once again proved their musical versatility. "Goaßnmaß" celebrated friendship and good company, while "Teufelstanz" made a powerful statement against anti-Semitism, racism, and discrimination. With "Space Bäda," a collaboration with rapper Roger Rekless, they successfully ventured into new territory, merging Bavarian sounds with modern hip-hop.
Now the new album "Polka Party" is ready to launch, with the cover - a hand-painted watercolor - designed by the renowned German artist Tobias Rehberger. And of course, LaBrassBanda will be touring again in 2025! From February to March, they will tour across Austria and heat up the stages with their "Polka Party."
