25 Years of Helfried: The cheap champagne is chilled, the pretzels are ready for the grand anniversary press gala. But no one shows up, except for one person: Maria, a freelance contributor to a theater magazine, has been randomly assigned to the event. All the other invitees are either dead or pretending to be. The neurotic Helfried still wants to go through with his meticulously planned presentation and is convinced that what he enjoys will also bring great joy to others. Seating arrangements, a beetle quiz, a game of musical chairs. But the blunt, cheeky Maria increasingly throws the celebrant off his game. The out-of-touch comedian is ruthlessly confronted with reality by the young woman: Helfried apparently lives off his past successes. Is a fossil like him still fit for the stage? Could he at least be marketed as "vintage"? Will Maria's fresh perspective lead him to despair or to new successes, as she brings many surprises? In the anniversary program, Christian Hölbling and Maria Weichesmüller allow the character Helfried to remain true to himself while presenting him in a completely different light. Skillfully, Helfried classics are woven into a new storyline, with stand-ups and original dialogues used to thoroughly dust off the cult character. And all of this with a lot of wit and joy in performance.
