NPHT: Into the Valley of Emeralds

The tour begins at the information hut at the Habachtal parking lot. After just a few meters, the road is left behind and the "Emerald Path" is entered. The ranger shares information along the way about the unique features of the trough valley and the green sparkling treasure beneath the ground: the valuable emeralds. Additionally, participants learn how to search for stones and where exactly searching is allowed. Nature observations are also part of the experience – with a bit of luck, you might see either golden eagles or marmots. The end of the tour is marked by the Alpine inn Alpenrose. There, you can take a break and return to the starting point either with the ranger or the "Emerald Taxi."

Difficulty: easy summer excursion on wide hiking trails

Equipment: sports or light trekking shoes, rain and sun protection, appropriate clothing and a change of clothes, backpack with drinks and snacks;

Cost: Adults €22. Children and teenagers (7–16 years) accompanied by their parents are free. Free with guest card or National Park Summer Card!

Dogs: Bringing dogs is not allowed during excursions out of consideration for other participants and local wildlife.

Meeting point: every Monday (from July 13, 2026, to September 7, 2026) at 9:00 AM at the Habachtal parking lot (coordinates: NS 47.24823 / WO 12.31816).

Getting there: by bus (line 670) to the stop "Weyer - Weyerhof," then a 20-minute walk; alternatively, by car to the Habachtal parking lot.
