Lantern Making

As the days grow shorter and the nights cooler, we celebrate Martin's Festival – a festival of light, warmth, and sharing.

In the zoo, this special evening becomes a radiant experience: after the story of Saint Martin, everyone walks through the dark zoo with their brightly glowing lanterns, and our little lantern Lumina tells us her story of sharing. A true sea of lights from colorful lanterns bathes the zoo in a magical atmosphere – an evening full of warmth, light, and community.

To ensure that everyone can participate in the Martin's procession with a glowing lantern, the zoo offers the opportunity to create your own lantern. Those bringing their own lantern are kindly asked to use LED candles, as open flames are prohibited in the zoo. LED lights can also be purchased at the zoo entrance, while supplies last.

Equipped with a lantern, all interested parties can then continue to the Martin's Festival in the zoo starting at 4:00 PM.
