Christoph Strasser - Moving Forward

Christoph Strasser has been participating in ultra cycling races since 2002 and has developed into the number one in the world over the years. His records and victories at the Race Across America are material for the history books. After a total of 9 attempts and 6 victories at the toughest ultra cycling race in the world, Strasser sought a new challenge: unsupported ultra cycling. Completely on his own and equipped only with a racing bike and the bare essentials, Strasser set out for a new challenge. And he found it. The Transcontinental Race, thousands of kilometers across Europe, was just a utopia in the mind of the exceptional athlete from Styria a few years ago. Unlike the previously achieved goals that Strasser always experienced with his team, unsupported races, as the name suggests, take place without support and without a team. Although, in addition to the physical strain, there is also the organizational aspect that he must plan in advance, including the route, nutrition, and sleep strategy for a distance of up to 5000 kilometers, the ultimate goal in unsupported races is still the same: to keep moving forward. Christoph Strasser takes his audience on a very personal and athletic journey. How has the first part of his athletic existence influenced the second part? How has he grown as a person, and what learnings does he take from the past 20 years of ultra cycling to tackle personal and athletic challenges?
