Theater: Cold White Man

Comedy featuring Verena Scheitz, Reinhard Nowak,… The new play by the authors of the sensational comedy "Extrawurst" revolves around a funeral that goes completely off the rails. Wolfhardt Steininger, the patriarch of a medium-sized company, has peacefully passed away at the age of 94, and his designated successor Hubert Zacherl is organizing the funeral for the company. However, his text on the wreath ribbon causes a strong stir: "In deep sorrow. Your employees." Quickly, Hubert, the new "old white man" at the helm, finds himself not only at odds with his marketing manager, the social media chief, and his secretary, but also with the very self-assured intern. In front of the theater audience, gathered as a mourning congregation, the company's leadership increasingly tears itself apart in this highly charged play. Not even the desperate pastor can calm the waves. The comedy, full of twists, sharply depicts the abysses, pitfalls, and rhetorical tricks of the current discussion on politically correct "gendering" and its socially "mandated" interactions, while also uncovering their all-too-human causes, thereby awakening a longing for attentive and respectful communication with one another. As with "Extrawurst," the audience can expect a whirlwind of punchlines. There is plenty of sophisticated fun and material for discussion.
