I can't easily recall a time in my life when I felt so much amazement, admiration, emotion, and joy in just 24 hours!
What enthusiasm traveling can evoke: When the German composer Fanny Hensel (the sister of the famous Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy) visited Italy for the first time, she was overwhelmed by the impressions of this country. And as befits a musician, she translated these impressions into music, resulting in the piano cycle "The Year" – which is exactly how long she traveled through Italy.

This children's concert is based on her music: Pianist Hannah Bachmann presents excerpts from Fanny Hensel's pieces, and together we will search for familiar sounds that we encounter throughout the year and that Fanny has hidden in her music. At the end, the young listeners will be invited to express their own creativity: Together, we will create our own series of twelve months to construct our own artistic "year." This series of images will then be exhibited the next day at Hannah Bachmann's concert alongside similar works by other painters.
