Will Tamino and Papageno succeed in the difficult tasks set before them? How do the magic flute and the glockenspiel help them? What an adventure!

With the largest selection of children's classics, KinderOPER in the KRYPTA presents a variety of works for young and old alike. Due to the proximity to the singers, a special exchange of energy occurs that captivates even the youngest audience members. Authentic, real opera theater is showcased, tailored primarily to the needs of young audiences, but also engaging for the young at heart.

Seating is assigned on-site. Every little guest is guaranteed an unobstructed view. Before the performance begins, there will be an entertaining introduction to the work for children.

The bright and friendly KRYPTA is pleasantly temperate in every season.

**Plot:**

Tamino falls hopelessly in love with the image of the princess Pamina. Her mother, the Queen of the Night, asks him to rescue her from the captivity of the sorcerer Sarastro. Papageno is to accompany him on this journey. As assistance, Tamino receives a magic flute from her, and Papageno gets a silver glockenspiel. Unfortunately, the two soon get lost in the forest.

Papageno soon encounters Monostatos, Pamina's guard. He becomes so amusing due to the sound of the magic bells that Papageno is able to free the princess. At the same time, Tamino tries out his flute. Calmed by its tones, the wild animals show him the way to Sarastro's castle.

There, everyone learns why Sarastro had Pamina kidnapped. She is to become Tamino's wife and his successor once he has passed the difficult trials. Tamino skillfully overcomes the great dangers and walks through fire and water.

However, Papageno, glad that he does not have to endure such trials himself, has one great wish: a female companion, one like him, a Papagena! He plays his glockenspiel, and an old woman appears. She threatens Papageno with imprisonment if he does not marry her. He then vows eternal fidelity, as he has nothing to lose. The old woman then transforms into a beautiful young woman, in whom Papageno recognizes his long-awaited Papagena.

“Strength has triumphed and crowns beauty and wisdom with eternal glory.”
