Counter on the Traun

On August 29, the Schifferverein will once again conduct the traditional "counter trips" on the Traun. For the 4th time under the title "Naufahrt und Schiffsgegentrieb mittels Pferdezug auf der Traun" as UNESCO intangible cultural heritage. We are very pleased to once again meet this honorable recognition in practice. There is also the opportunity to participate in a trip on the ship. The 10-man crew maneuvers the Trauner upstream in order to turn it around after a certain distance for the Naufahrt (downstream journey). At the confluence of the Ager, the ship is turned again to connect it there with the 4 horses via a 60-meter-long rope. These horses then pull the Trauner back to the Salzstadln.
