Without merely indulging in the past, we seek our musical origin in our chamber music series. After all, according to a word from violinist and conductor Sándor Végh, a chamber music ensemble is not a shrunken orchestra, but rather an orchestra is simply an expanded chamber music ensemble. The magnificent city house of the Linz merchants was, for years and decades, the quintessential concert venue for chamber music in Linz, a significance it only lost with the opening of the Brucknerhaus. Tapping into this tradition, we will once again let great music in a small format resonate there in sleek, variable formations. Unrestrainedly virtuosic and with a passion that comes from the heart.
