This year, the marketplace of Stadtschlaining transforms once again into a magical fairy-tale world of the Middle Ages, offering a special Advent experience for young and old alike. Huge city gates with costumed guards grant visitors entry for the 45th time this year.

A very special pre-Christmas highlight – in an extraordinary setting with a unique atmosphere, strolling through a crafts and farmers' market – this is the pre-Christmas market in the City of Peace. In keeping with tradition, tea, mulled wine, punch, roasted chestnuts, sweets, homemade pastries, and regional delicacies from the area are a must: the best ingredients for an unforgettable celebration, a time travel back to the Middle Ages.

Many highlights for children
The children's program at the Friedensburg Schlaining will delight young visitors. In the various rooms of the castle, there will be a Christmas crafting and painting workshop, child-friendly tours of the castle, pottery, linocuts, and much more. The carriage ride through Stadtschlaining and the visit from St. Nicholas are always special highlights for the children.

Medieval at every turn
Whether in the individual private driveways, at the town hall, or the Friedensburg – Stadtschlaining can be conquered by its guests on this day as well. And everywhere one goes, the flair and atmosphere of the medieval Christmas market can be felt.

Through the town… Nativity Trail
Christmas nativity scenes are timelessly fascinating. The Stadtschlaining Nativity Trail invites visitors once again to stroll through the medieval town center and the Friedensburg, taking breaks along the way. In the windows of the houses around the medieval main square and in the Friedensburg, one can enjoy "nativity viewing" and admire numerous handcrafted artworks. An icon exhibition in the community hall further enriches the Advent character.
