When Zeki Müller is released from prison, he only thinks of one thing: the loot from his last heist. Unfortunately, his girlfriend buried the money exactly where the gym of the Goethe Comprehensive School now stands. So Zeki applies for the janitor position - and due to a misunderstanding with the principal, Ms. Gerster, he becomes a substitute teacher.
