Philipp Hochmair
The Trial
Franz Kafka's novel "The Trial" tells the story of a refusal. Joseph K. is accused by an imaginary court on the morning of his 30th birthday, without ever learning what he is being charged with. He becomes lost in affairs and distractions instead of responding to the call to "think more about himself" and focus on what is essential. But what is essential? Joseph K. gets caught up in self-staging and fantasy images instead of taking responsibility.

Philipp Hochmair's award-winning solo performances are an experience: the high-performance actor is always charged with energy, giving his all - theater cannot be experienced more intensely. From 2003 to 2009, Philipp Hochmair was a member of the ensemble at the Vienna Burgtheater; since 2009, he has been seen at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg and on many major stages. Engagements have taken him to the State Theater in Hanover, the theaters in Hamburg and Zurich, the Volksbühne, and the Deutsches Theater in Berlin. He became known to a wider audience through numerous film and television roles, including as the protagonist in the ORF/ARD series "Vorstadtweiber," "Blind ermittelt," "Charité," and many more. For "Wannseekonferenz," he was awarded the ROMY 2022 and the Grimme Prize 2023.
