Apple Culinary Experience

What do Perlrenette, Siebenschläfer, Schafnase, Maschanzker & Co taste like? Who knows the flavors of the numerous varieties that still exist in the orchards of Southern Burgenland? Discover our large variety exhibition of apple and pear varieties and taste rare specimens on-site that are hardly found anymore. A large variety exhibition featuring over 150 old apple varieties, including rarities like Schafnase, Siebenschläfer, and Goldrenette. Visitors can taste numerous varieties and also purchase them directly. Exciting lectures, excursions, and guided tastings take place daily – covering topics such as traditional orchard cultivation, fruit tree pruning, the use of wild herbs, apple wines, and apple vinegar. During the week, there are special tours and programs for schools and kindergartens, as well as offerings for orchard owners and enthusiasts. On October 24 and 25, a large autumn market will attract visitors, featuring apple tastings, an apple market with sales, numerous stalls with orchard specialties, handicrafts, and regional culinary delights. Families can look forward to a colorful supporting program with juice pressing for children, craft stations, the joint planting of an apple tree, and much more. Participation in many program points is free or available for a small donation. Registration is required for some tastings and special tours.
