Four musicians, whose secret love is fusion jazz, have come together to finally play the repertoire that is firmly anchored in the collective musical memory but rarely finds its way to local stages.
One searches in vain for Joe Zawinul, Michael Brecker, Wayne Shorter, Don Grolnik, or songs like "Stratus," "A Remark You Made," or "Modaji," even at established jazz sessions. Romantic ballads, funky rhythms, modal improvisational spaces, racing unison passages, and expansive soundscapes – the necessary preparation and attention to detail are gladly handled by Station 1977.
