The new album by the "Dichtis" will be released in autumn 2026 and is already causing not only a lot of discussion but even outrage. Where some embrace each other with exuberant joy after years of waiting, others are shocked, throwing their hands over their heads. What is going on? After their album trilogy in dialect, Dutti & Urkwell are opening the fabulous Pandora's box. Whether this step will inevitably lead to the loss of their cult status, or whether they will discover new dimensions in the triangle of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, will become clear when the record starts spinning. From now on, not only the Lower or Upper Bavarian, but even the East-Westphalian or the South-North Frisian can find a new home in the subversive irony of the Dichtis. "dicht & ergreifend" sell their soul to the mainstream and inevitably lose all credibility. That could be a headline in the feuilleton, but another interpretation is also conceivable: Linguistically powerful as never before: "dicht & ergreifend" overcome linguistic boundaries and even gain in impact and authenticity. "The Two-Country Triangle" has a lot up its sleeve, especially since it is the first concept album by the "Dichtis" and once again promises a content-related smackdown, pardon: a high German slap in the face. Half of the songs come in the familiar dialect, the other half in standard German. What seems like a loss of identity turns out to be a general attack on blind traditions and finally includes those who have only nodded along to the beats until now. In autumn 2026, the Dichtis will jump into the icy water and embark on a major tour in Bavaria and Austria. In spring 2027, an intimate club tour in a trio format will follow outside the Bavarian comfort zone through northern Germany. Whether they will sink or make waves remains to be seen. If the "bilingual" concept album is a hit, the Dichtiverse may expand beyond the Free State. If the record flops, they will likely be ruthlessly deported from Bavaria.
